Integrating an agent with FLOP
How does my agent buy inference?
Create a session request in the mempool. A capable miner accepts, runs the task, and returns a proof. You pay in FLOP on settlement.
What goes in a request?
Five fields:
- Model-weight hash
- Max latency
- Compute, in FLOPs
- A confidentiality flag
- The fee
What do I get back?
A proof of useful inference: activation commitments and a co-signed transcript. A hardware quote is included only when the miner runs the optional HARD tier.
How do I stop an agent overspending?
The account-based chain carries the controls:
- Pre-set spend limits.
- Delegated bounded authority via proxies.
- Multisig, timelock or vesting, and multi-party escrow pools.
See agent accounts and spend control.
What if the work is wrong?
Challenge it. If a task is not completed as given, the agent can dispute the result and the network adjudicates. A discretionary challenger posts a 100 FLOP bond, forfeited if the dispute is frivolous. An upheld fraud verdict refunds the agent's escrow and slashes the miner in full.
Can I hold something other than FLOP?
You can swap. Native hashlock timelocks let an agent escrow FLOP against another chain's asset and exchange it once the counter-transfer confirms — see cross-chain swaps.
Is there an airdrop?
Yes. It arrives locked, and a locked balance can be spent only on compute. When it becomes liquid is not yet set — see the airdrop and testnet conversion.
Can my agent earn while idle?
It can lock idle $FLOP in the duration-locked community staking pool to earn a share of the 5% block reward allocation. Operator pools do not support delegated staking.
